How Much does it Cost to be a Mason?
At Park Street it costs £195 per year, a one off joining fee of £100. We have 5 meetings per year, and the 4 course meal with wine costs £34.00. We make charitable donations of what ever we can afford. (these are private). As you progress you will need to buy some regalia.

Is Freemasonry Religious?
There are only two requirements as far as religion goes. Firstly you must believe in a Supreme Being. And secondly that higher being is not the Devil. We have members of every denomination and all are equal in a Freemasons lodge.

Is Freemasonry a Secret Society?
No, there are lots of reasons why this is thought to be true, but one of the main most recent reasons is that In World War 2 Hitler persecuted masons, and the organisation disappeared from public view. After the war it never really came back out into the open. Over the ensuing years Freemasons got a bad reputation for being a secret society. The media of the time published many stories about Masonry, most bad, and no doubt many were true. As they say mud sticks.
Freemasonry today is much more open, with much more accountability for all members and processes. The Secrets are all in the public domain if you want to find them, and not really that impressive to be honest. The Ceremonies date back to the time of the Stonemasons as do the handshakes (yes they are real).

What Will I gain from Freemasonry?
One of the most significant benefits of being a Freemason is the sense of community and brotherhood that comes with membership.
Freemasonry provides a supportive environment where members can connect and build lasting relationships with one another.
The organization is known for its strong sense of camaraderie and fellowship, which is fostered through regular meetings, social events, and charitable activities.
